1974: Birth

1982: 1st bike

1986: I was hooked. All my free time was spent cruising the neighborhood on my Huffy.

1989: My first “real” bike… The GT Tequesta Hot Pink Smoke with Suntour XC Comp.

1993: The GT Zaskar LE, Started working full time at St Matthews Schwinn in Louisville KY. By this time my entire life revolved around riding my bike. It was an escape.

1995: Moved to San Diego, CA. Started working at Nytro in Encinitas, CA.

1999: Gary Fisher Procaliber, working at QR/Real Design/ Saucony. Disenchanted by the retail side of the bicycle industry.

2001: Sycip Diesel, left the Bike Industry to enter the Tech Industry. Loved the change of pace. Worked at B&L on the weekends.

2006: Sycip Super Unleaded 29, Needed to simplify my life. Started work at SockGuy and waited for a wrenching job at B&L to open up.

2007: Full time at B&L. Talked to SR about a possible offsite service only shop… Dream was born.

2010: Velo Hangar name was hatched. Decals showing up on bikes, logo designed by James & the guys at GoSandBox Designs. FS frame sold to produce T-shirts, new decals from Victory Circle Graphix & a Pedro’s Bench-in-a-box.

Oct 2010: Left B&L to start VH. Original location in my garage.

July 2011: Moved into 637 Valley with Alternabike.

June 2015: Moved out of “637”, too much overhead, bad work relationship, biz going in wrong direction… Change is progress.

June 2015: Back to the garage for a “retune”. Pick ups and Delivery only. 2015 Ford Transit XLT purchased, wrapped & outfitted. Hit the ground running… New Merch added to the online store. Better idea of what VH needs in the next space.

June 2016: Lease signed on “2nd location” in Carlsbad Village.
